Our school has a very active parent community and we hope you'll consider joining us. Please let us know if you are interested in assisting us in any of the areas below.

Author Presentations- Help the chairs at author presentations for the students of OPS.
Babysitter Training- Help the chairs facilitate the babysitting course offered to 6th grade students, usually on a Saturday in the spring.
Community Outreach- Help to assist families/individuals in OPS community who are faced with a crisis; help to coordinate donations for the needy.
Garden- Help with with garden maintenance during one Fall Clean up and prep for Spring planting. Only requirement is willingness to get hands dirty!
Grounds Beautification- Help with seasonal decorations and maintaining grounds around the OPS sign. Also decorate front doors of school.
Hospitality- Set up refreshments for PTA meetings. Help at teachers' back-to-school breakfast and crossing guard, lunch aide and custodian breakfast.
Kindergarten/Family Mentoring- Help parents of new students navigate their way through their first year at OPS.
Memory Book- Help to publish the yearly Memory Book which is distributed to each student in June.
Reflections - Help chairs organized submissions and showcase art at the last PTA meeting of the year.
RIF- Help with school-wide, free book distributions.
School Elections/Legislative- Promote voter registration; help with Candidates' Night in the event of a contested BOE election; help w/mock election.
Science Fun- Help at the annual OPS Science Fair and/or at school-wide Science Day and at after-school science based workshops for grades K-6.
Special Needs Committee- Connecting parents and making OPS and the Oradell PTA more inclusive in regards to children with special needs of any kind.
Student Programming- Volunteers assist at school assemblies as needed.
Teacher Appreciation Week- Help with various activities such as the faculty luncheon during the fist week of May and goodie bag distribution.
Book Fair- Help at school wide Scholastic Book Fairs. Book Fairs are generally held on Back to School Night and over a 3 day period in the spring.
Box Tops For Education- Aid with the collection of General Mills Box Tops and help chairs with contests intended to motivate students to participate.
Class Photos- Help on the fall class photo day to help the schedule flow and to make sure children are ready for their picture.
Holiday Boutique- Assist the chairs in setting up the boutique and help students (K-6) to purchase inexpensive holiday gifts.
Ice Cream Lunch- Volunteers are needed once a month to distribute ice cream to their child's class.
In Store Promotions- Volunteers are needed to help organize cash-back programs and other similar opportunities.
Pizza Lunch- Volunteers aid in the distribution of pizza to students. Pizza lunch is two days per month.
Plant Sale- Volunteers help set up and/or help on the day of the plant sale. The Plant Sale is held prior to Mother's Day.
School Supplies- Volunteers help with the distribution of School Tools Boxes sometime in the week before the first day of school.
Spirit Wear Sales- Assist in the sale of OPS insignia articles of clothing and accessories.
